Individual Assessment
and Therapy Rates

Comprehensive Initial Assessment: This is our foundational session where I get to know you. We’ll take the time to explore your history, understand your current challenges, and collaboratively define your therapy goals. It’s the first step in creating your personalized treatment plan. Together, we’ll decide if meeting for regular therapy sessions is the right next step for you.

  • Length: 75 minutes

  • Investment: $240

Extended Initial Assessment (Adolescents): Teens often benefit from a more paced approach to build comfort and trust. This assessment is divided into two sessions. The first session is with parents only, and the second is with the teen, allowing us to gather a full picture of their needs in a way that feels supportive and not overwhelming.

  • Length: Two 60-minute sessions

  • Investment: $425

Ongoing Therapy Sessions: Following our initial assessment, we will meet regularly for individual therapy. These sessions are dedicated to working through your challenges, developing new skills, and making meaningful progress toward your goals. Our sessions are 53 minutes, the standard "therapeutic hour."

  • 53 minutes: $200

  • 25 minutes: $130

Questions to Ask Your Insurance Company

Understanding your insurance coverage is an important step before beginning therapy. Many plans include mental health benefits, but the details can vary, especially when it comes to out-of-network providers. Asking these questions will give you clarity and help you plan for your investment in care.

Key Questions to Ask

- Does my plan include mental health benefits? If so, can I be reimbursed for sessions with an out-of-network provider?

- What is my individual or family deductible, and has it already been met?

- What is the coverage amount per therapy session for out-of-network services?

- How many therapy sessions per year does my plan cover?

Next Step

Once you speak with your insurance company and have most of your answers, Dr. Kievit would be happy to address and remaining questions. We will provide you a superbill (itemized invoice) that contains the information requested by most insurance companies to process claims upon your request.

No Surprises Act & Good Faith Estimate Notice

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining how much your mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers must give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services.

  • Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business date before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

  • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises/ or call 1 (800) 368-1019.
